A High-Octane Haven
On the shores of Lake Delavan, Wisconsin, a new construction lake house by KED Interiors features a lower level designed for interior leisure, perfect for family fun throughout the winter, when the boats are stored and cozy moments are spent with friends and family.
Inspired by the client's passion for cars, the lower floor was designed to evoke the excitement of Formula One racing and seamlessly blend the thrill of high-speed racing with sophisticated comfort. The space includes a variety of rooms for both relaxation and recreation, including a wine cellar, home gym and sauna, family room, game room, golf simulator and bar.
One highlight is the glossy lacquered green bar, with a sleek metal kickboard that captures the essence of a high-performance vehicle. The bar itself is a true work of art. Surface mounted brass and glass shelving stand out against a mirrored wall, with a semi-transparent charcoal film, creating the abstraction of headlights. The leather bar stools, chosen for its resemblance to sports car upholstery, invites guests to sink into comfort as they sip on their cocktail of choice. The bar is positioned with a view into the family room, fireplace and large screen TV so guests don’t miss a moment of the action.
In the game room, mottled cork-like wallpaper covers one wall and extends across the ceiling paired with custom leather strapping, reminiscent of a high-end steering wheel which adds a textural and luxurious element, evoking the feel of a sleek sports car interior. Bistro seating stands adjacent to the wine cellar.
Comfort abounds in the light bound family room. The area is anchored by a fireplace covered in oversized porcelain, which looks like oxidized metal. Paired with a fire, it fills the room with bright warmth. Either side of the fireplace features built-in shelves, which serve a dual purpose. Situated at a seat level, our client can simply remove any decor for extra seating. A large ottoman, sofas and chairs provide seating for larger groups who can enjoy a game or movie night on the TV. It's a space where sophistication meets the thrill of the race, offering a unique and unforgettable environment for entertainment and leisure.
